Reelect Robinson, Mueller, Metcalf

Welcome!

It is an exciting year to be a Democrat. We kicked off the year at our State Convention with speeches by Senator Obama and Senator Clinton. And now we are heading into a district election for our State Legislators - Senator Robinson, Representative Metcalf and Representative Mueller.

Elections matter! They matter to our children, to the elderly, to property owners, to farmers, to local business owners. They matter to all of us. Our Legislators have served us well and will continue to do so when they are elected again in November.

Please consider how you can be involved in the District campaign. We need people to stuff envelopes, post yard signs, make phone calls, and organize events. Whatever your talents, we need them to win this election. To get involved, please contact us.

We look forward to seeing you on the campaign trail.

Legislative Report By Sen. Larry Robinson

The interim activity of the legislature has pretty much concluded. The full Legislative Council will meet in Bismarck on November 13th & 14th to hear reports from each of the committee chairpersons representing the various interim committees.  The Legislature Council is a group of 17 legislators elected by their peers who oversee the work of the legislative branch of government during the interim.

LEGISLATIVE REPORT - REP RALPH METCALF

Let’s discuss Constitutional Measure #1 and I will “Think about it” for now but you will get your chance later.  Several points come to mind as I review this proposed legislation.

LEGISLATIVE REPORT - REPRESENTATIVE RALPH METCALF

Think about it!  If you paid around $700 income taxes last year you can consider yourself in the same category with 340,000 other North Dakotans who averaged this amount.  By the way, this is about 92% of all those who pay state income taxes. It is kind of interesting to note that the remaining 8% of ND tax payers contributed an average of $7,500 per taxpaying individual to our state tax coffers.  Now if Measure #2 is passed by you, one of the 92% listed above, your taxes may be reduced by $350.  Meanwhile, the top 8% will have their taxes reduced around $3750 per tax payer.  Now, which group receives the greatest benefit?  Think about it!

Letter from Emil Haas Jr.; Lester Speicher; Connie Winkler; Jean R. Busta; Connie McGough; Edgar Button; and Bernie Wagner

We are writing to express our support and appreciation for Larry Robinson, Phil Mueller and Ralph Metcalf for all they have done for our community and for the elderly and disadvantaged in our area. Our involvement in programs such as veterans services, senior meals, home-delivered meals, outreach and transportation has provided insight into how well we have been represented by our delegation in Bismarck.

Fruits of Robinson’s leadership, compassion are widespread

For more than a year now, we Americans have been bombarded with words like “trust,” “experience,” “consistency” and “integrity” so often that they have all but lost their meaning. Nonetheless, they still reflect our basic core values. Never has there been more at stake in choosing our leaders, and never have these qualities of leadership been more important.
